Some changes

I've made some changes to the blog layout.  Very minor.  Also, I might start playing my second file in Megaman Star Force 3 soon.  It was a really great game.  It's a shame there won't be another one like it.

Also, yay!  I've been featured on Unseen64!

I have been busy

I haven't posted much recently because I've been busy.  That's how life at 17 is.  It's my birthday on April 10th, so that will be fun.  I don't know what I'm going to do yet.

The contest seems to be all right.  I knew it would get a lot of attention.  It's just a shame so many people couldn't enter.  I forgot that spring break and finals are MUCH different for some people.  Maybe in the next contest, even more people will enter.

New Crisis Interview Questions

The New Crisis Interview time is up and I got quite a few interesting questions to answer.  You can always ask more questions if you'd like.  Here are all the questions I received.

Ok, do you plan on ever making a full sprite sheet for waveman?
Sort of. It's very difficult and at this point, and would have very little use.

Hello Megarock. I am just another one of many who has been absolutely exhilarated by your series, The New Crisis.

In the end of the last and most recent episode, you mention a term Lan states as, "Link Power." Are you going to create a new series based upon the subject or mention it in a future work?
I used that term to allude to the Star Force series where Lan states he would work on it. I can't make another series based on Lan's focus of Link Power since that would require resources that do not exist. Basically, I put that there to show how Lan was thinking about it. He still has years ahead of him before he can focus on it.

I am curious to know what happened to Waveman, since I can only see two things there: died of regretment or just disappeared. Oh and more two questions, will you make a second series? And why didn't Mr.SSRockman appeared, not even as cameo by the end?
Well no Navi truly "dies", right? Being defeated in the story (though not physically) still means he is "deleted". If you've played the games, you'll notice they always come back somehow, right?
I never considered giving SSMega a cameo of any sort. Remember that the planning for the last episode and credits happened months ago. Actually, around September of last year. The only reason SSMega could appear is through time travel and that would not make sense in the storyline. I tried to make a story that would not falsify the events of the future and not have been specifically mentioned anywhere else.

Interview question. You said that episode 4.5 was basically scrapped, what did you originally intend to do with that episode?
What made you come up with the idea for this, Project Legacy, a want for EXE 7, what specifically?
How much time did you put into this mini series?
What were you NOT able to do that you wished you could have?
Was there more you wanted to do with Waveman?
I don't remember ever saying episode 4.5 was scrapped.

My inspiration for this started after I did CopyMan's Comeback. I thought I could do more scenarios like that. At first, I planned only the Protoman battle and then directly to a Falzar battle. That never happened and I played Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Playing the story mode got me thinking that I could create a more elaborate story similar to the game. Then the Star Force games provided ideas and features that the Battle Network games didn't have that I wanted to include.

I decided to make a mini-series because ideas came to me. I didn't want to just write fan fiction but I wanted to create it. In the past, I had tried to make a BN fanfic but I never finished it. This time, I got the ideas and I finished it. Playing other games had gotten me thinking about plot and story development and I had to try it out.

Since the first episode, I've spent over 2 years planning and making the series. It has been a major source of my ideas that I could put into fanfiction.

Having finished, I look back at a few things I could not do. I wished that the earlier episodes could have had the benefits of new hacks and that the newer episodes could have had the original motive that the earlier episodes had. On several occasions, I wish the cutscenes I made could have had more actions. More characters should have been able to move and interact with others.

I felt like WaveMan was able to do what I wanted. Now, I kind of wish I did have a WaveMan battle. He played the antagonist and that's good enough.  But I still would have liked it if the new WaveMan design appeared earlier.  I didn't have the skill unfortunately.

That last question was deep.  I'm glad that there are so many people interested in my work.  This has been a very exciting experience and great addition to the fan-fics out there on the Internet.  I'm sure lots of people would be really excited if Capcom decided to borrow ideas from my series to include in one of their games.

And as for that WaveMan battle.  I've still got everything saved.  I'm sure I could whip something up someday. ;)

Huntington Beach Kite Show

I'm posting about my travels again.  Today I went walking on the beach.  For some reason, even in March the beaches were crowded.  I went to the nearby Huntington Beach, one of the places were people like me are the minority.  They had a kite show that day.  The winds were strong and cold.  I never even knew they did something like this.  I managed to record part of the performance.  I thought it was really impressive.

They played to some movie music.  I don't remember its name but it sounds like a movie Lucas or Spielberg did.

I also went out to the Ruby's Restaurant out at sea.   It gets really cold and windy there.

I even got up-close to a pelican.  They're large for a bird and like the other birds, it just floated away because of the strong winds.  In the water, I even saw what appeared to be dolphin.  They had dorsal fins and appeared black in color.

That's how I spent today, or the day Daylight Savings Time takes effect.  Maybe that's another reason the beach was crowded.  It was fun.  I like to go to different places once in a while.

Official Hacked Battle Contest VI

The new contest is here! Make sure to check out the contest topic.

Official Hacked Battle Contest

Official Hacked Battle Contest VI

Round 1 begins next week so be prepared.

One more thing.  When I released The New Crisis Final Ep stuff, I forgot to include one thing: the state save; so here it is!

Final Battle State Save

It's the state save for the final battle.  If you've applied the patch provided with the episode stuff, you can fight the Cybeasts with 9999 HP (provided you push Select to give them the HP).  I'm not setting any challenges or rewards.  It's just so you can try it out for yourself.  Obviously, the state save only works for regular versions of VBA.  So if you're using those link versions, get rid of them.

Credits stuff

You may have noticed that in the credits, I featured artwork for the NetOps of MMBN 6 Navis.  Before I considered that, I tried searching for them and came up empty.  Thankfully, Dark Miyabi of RockmanPM provided me with some scans of their artwork.  Now that the credits are out, I would like to share the artwork.  I did my best to improve the quality.  You can find the original scans at RockmanPM in the art request topic.

Here is the artwork for the Navis and NetOps that do not have easily-attainable artwork.

MMBN6: The New Crisis - Ending/Credits

The ending and credits are here!  And in glorious High Definition!

Just a small mistake there with the long black screen with music playing.  Skip to 6:12 for the last words. By the time it's finished processing, I'm sure I'll reach my 1000th subscriber.  Now that the series officially wrapped up, I am open for questioning.  Certainly there must be people out there with questions for me.  You can ask serious interview questions over at TREZ.

New Crisis Interview

Tatsunoko vs Capcom!

I just played the game today.  A friend brought it over and I got to play.  The game is really fun.  I almost forgot how fun these kind of games can be.  I tried the "Arcade" mode and beat it with Roll.  The game has that awkward hard-core Japanese feel to it.  During my play, I unlocked Frank West.  His special attack is Mega Buster which is awesome!  If I actually owned the game, I would be playing it more.  It's an amazing game.  Really thrilling.

This week

I estimate that this week, the credits sequence will be finished.  I personally supervised the making process recently and at this rate, I think Wednesday sounds like a decent estimate.  I don't know why I didn't do this sooner.  Teamviewer is awesome.

With the credits nearing completion, I've also started organizing the next Hacked Battle Contest.  I'm not giving out much details yet but when the credits are done, the new contest will be up.  I hope this contest will be really competitive.  Prizes are still undetermined.

Waiting and waiting and waiting

Tired of doing nothing.  I cleaned out my drawer full of stuff.

Here is a picture of the pile outside the drawer stacked on my kitchen table.

Here is all my stuff organized in the drawer.

If you check the DS games on the left, you can see all the DS games I own.  BN5DS, MMSF Dragon, MMSF2 Saurian, and MMSF3 Joker.  Still, it's quite a collection of games.
